Knitted Baby Blanket

Introduction

I was taught how to do the basic knit stitch by my gran when I was about 10 years old at the oldest where I knitted a small scarf for one of my cuddly toys, well that was 32 years ago I have not picked up my needles since then. Then came the lock down and with little to occupy myself with the help of online tutorials I have again learnt how to do basic knitting so here is where I am going to chart my progress through the knitting I am doing. I may also try my hand at a bit of crochet both regular and Tunisian crochet.

Now my gran was a fantastic knitter and whilst at primary school mine and my brothers jumpers were all knitted by her. Unfortunately after arthritis set in she was no longer able to knit. My mum, although she could knit, preferred crochet. Whether it was a bed spread or small snowflake Christmas decorations she could do them unfortunately Alzheimer’s took her ability to do this skill from her.

So I have taken up the ‘crafting’ mantle so to speak.

Please note I am not a knitting teacher (I teach Chemistry) and I am a still really a beginner myself so I will provide links to the tutorial I used as well as to what yarn and needles I used along with what I thought of the yarn.

My posts my not be regular on here but I will add in projects I am doing either when finished or part way through.

I have also stareted to crochet as well so I will be adding my crochet projects here as well.
